1. What are the fees?

UCash fees are transparent and applied weekly. The more you borrow, the higher the fee, but you'll always know exactly what you owe upfront. Here's how it works:

  • For loans up to PKR 100, a base fee of PKR 5 plus tax is applicable.
  • For every additional PKR 100 borrowed, an extra PKR 5 fee (plus tax) will be added.
  • This fee schedule applies to loans up to PKR 30,000.
  • Fees are collected upfront, with the first week's fee collected upon loan disbursement and subsequent weekly fees collected on the first day of each week.
  • Fees only apply during the maturity phase (4 weeks from the date of disbursement) and rollover phases (4 weeks from maturity).
  • 2. What happens when the loan is due?

    You have 4 weeks (maturity) to repay your loan in full, including any fees. If you haven't repaid by the due date, your loan will automatically roll over for another 4 weeks with additional fees applied.

    3. What's a lien status?

    If you don't repay your loan by the due date, your account will be marked as "lien." Until the time of complete recovery, this means you can't make any debit transactions (like sending money/making payments) until the loan is settled. However, you can still continue to receive money or top up through your account for loan repayment.

    4. From where can I apply for UCash?

    UCash can be applied for via the UPaisa app (Android) only.

    5. How do I become eligible?

    Regular UPaisa users with a good eCIB score are eligible for UCash loans. The more you use UPaisa, the higher your loan limit may become over time.

    6. How can I repay my loan?

    You can repay your loan in full or partially any time before the due date through the UPaisa app. Alternatively, you can deposit funds into your mobile account, and UCash will automatically deduct the repayment on or after the due date.

    Once you've repaid your UCash loan, simply check your eligibility through the UPaisa app and apply for another loan if your credit limit allows! Remember: Responsible borrowing is key!     • Definitions
    • “Customer” or “you” or “your” will refer to the person to whom the Mobile Money account belongs to and includes all his personal or legal representatives and assigns;
    • “Credit Bureau(s)” means the entity that collects information relating to Credit Scores of Customers;
    • “Credit Score(s)” means the number resulting from the evaluation of Customer’s transactional behaviour which determines the Customer’s Credit Viability and is a component to the provision of the Service. For the avoidance of doubt, the Bank determines the Customer’s Credit Score in its sole discretion;
    • “Credit Viability” means the ability of the Customer, determined by the Bank in its sole discretion, to meet the financial obligations under the Loan Schedule;
    • “Due Date” means the last day of the Repayment Period; In a case where the Loan amount is not fully repaid on the Due Date, we shall be entitled to define a new due date;
    • “Fee” means the remuneration to which Bank is entitled for the provision of its services, which are equivalent of a percentage of the Net Loan Fee Revenue.
    • ” GSM data” means data related to Global System for Mobile Communications network of the Customer;
    • “Loan amount” means the volume of the cash that is lent to the Customer and disbursed to his Mobile Money Account;
    • “Loan Schedule” means the notice with the details of your loan such as the Loan amount and repayment terms, Service and other permitted fees and charges and will be provided to you if you are elected to receive a Loan amount;
    • “Mobile Money Account” means UPaisa Mobile Wallet or Account;
    • “Mobile Money Account Usage Data” means the transactional data as produced from the Customer’s interaction with the UPaisa Mobile Wallet or Account;
    • “Mobile Money Wallet” means the wallet of the Customer within its Mobile Money Account, in which he will receive Loan amounts and manage his financial obligations deriving from the provision of the Services;
    • “Network” means the mobile network operated by Ufone;
    • “Personal Data” shall have the meaning of the definition as per data protection laws in Pakistan;
    • “Privacy Policy” shall mean the Bank’s privacy policy which is available at https://www.upaisa.com/privacy-policy.php
    • ” PTML” or “UFone” shall mean the Network operator or Super-Agent of Ubank for Branchless Banking Service, PakCommunications Mobile Limited;
    • “Repayment Period” means the time period communicated to the Customer by the Bank by which the Loan amount can be repaid by Customer;
    • “Service(s)” or “UPaisa” means the provision of micro credit loan services to Customers via its designated platform, subject to the acceptance of these Terms and Conditions;
    • “SOC” is UPaisa schedule of charges.
    • “The Bank” or “us”, “we” or “our” are references to UBank;
    • “Terms and Conditions” means these terms and conditions governing the provision of the Services and setting out the Bank’s and the Customer’s rights and obligations relating to the Services.
    • “UCash” is the brand name for Nano lending Product of UPaisa
    • General
    • These Terms and Conditions may change from time to time. The customer will be informed in advanced in case of changes in T&Cs.
    • By using this Service, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions, the Loan Schedule and the Privacy Policy, as they apply from time to time, and that these Terms and Conditions and Privacy policy are binding on you.
    • We offer the Services online, i.e., through electronic channels. (UPaisa Application, USSD and SMS).
    • Subject to our internal credit policies, we may decide to grant you credit or not within our discretion
    • These Terms and Conditions may not be assigned by you to any other person.
    • It is the Bank’s sole right to amend the SOC at any time and it is the Customer’s obligation to comply with the SOC.
    • It is in the Bank’s sole discretion, to provide the Services and may be denied or revoked at any time. Prior to providing the Services, the Bank may require from Customer documentation and/or information such as proof of income or other financial information or any other information as deemed appropriate and Customer must promptly provide up-to-date, true, accurate and complete documentation and/or information upon Bank’s request.

    • Terms and Conditions
    • Should you apply for a Loan amount using the Service that we then elect to grant to you; you will be required to electronically accept these Terms and Conditions. The Loan amount will be paid to your Mobile Money Account via the UPaisa platform.
    • The Bank, shall be entitled, in addition to all other available rights and remedies, to recover funds in case of any wrong postings or make reversals without the prior consent of the Customer.
    • In the event of a default status on the loan, the amount owed will be automatically deducted from the customer's account on its next credit transaction.
    • If a customer's account lacks sufficient funds to cover the loan amount on the due date, it will be marked as lien automatically
    • Upon complete payment of the outstanding loan amount, the customer's lien status will be removed.
    • Repayment
    • Loan amount repayment must be made by the agreed-upon Due Date as stipulated in the Loan Schedule. Failure to repay the Loan amount upon the Due Date may result in additional fees and penalties and may impact the Customer's Credit Score. You must pay the total amount due in terms of the Loan Schedule, which includes the principal debt, all fees, and applicable taxes, using your Mobile Money Account.
    • At application, you agreed to pay principal, fees, any other amounts and applicable taxes that may be due to us. If the repayment terms in your Loan Schedule is in arrears, we reserve the right to mark lien, auto-block and auto-debit your Mobile Money Wallet on any day to recover the arrears amount from any available balance in your Mobile Money Wallet.
    • The Loan amount would automatically be deducted from Customer’s Mobile Money Wallet after the Due Date Upon complete recovery, any change in status (lien marked/ debit block) will be reverted.
    • Any payments received from you will be allocated in the following order the payment of:
    • Principal Debt
    • Fees and other charges
    • You may choose to pay the Loan amount (principal debt, fees and other charges) on or before the Due Date by using the “Repay loan” option within the “Loans” menu of your Mobile Money Account.
    • Ubank reserves the right to make any changes in the schedule of charges with prior notice to the Customer.
    • Overdue Charges
    • In the event that the Loan amount is not repaid in full within the Repayment Period and by the latest on the Due Date during the application process and upon loan approval, refinancing charges will be applied as communicated during the application process. Applicable fees shall be communicated to the Customer additionally via SMS.
    • Default and collection
    • In the event of loan default, the Bank reserves the right to pursue all available legal and collection actions to recover the outstanding Loan amount and any associated fees and penalties. Furthermore, in case the Loan amount is not fully repaid after ninety (90) calendar days from the Due date:
    • you will be notified by SMS that the Loan amount is in a state of default.
    • you will be reported as a defaulter to the national credit bureaus as required by law;
    • Privacy and Security
    • For all intents and purposes, by subscribing to the Service and in the course of each transaction carried out under the Service, Customer unequivocally gives consent to the Bank and to PTML to collect, process (including profiling), share with third parties and with each other his/her personal and Mobile Money Account Usage Data stored with the Bank and PTML for GSM data at any time for the purpose of providing, improving or upgrading the Service or the platform upon which the Service is hosted on the one hand and/or analysing or assessing the Credit Viability or otherwise of his/her subscription or use for sending SMS for awareness, loan management, research and other purposes. We undertake to make use of your personal information and data received from UPaisa for the purposes of, and in accordance with, the consent you have provided to UPaisa in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and with our Privacy Policy, which, for the avoidance of doubt, forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
    • Once you have agreed to these Terms and Conditions and are our customer, we or UPaisa may use your contact details for direct marketing purposes, subject to your right to opt out;
    • The Bank is committed to protecting personal and financial information. All data collected by UPaisa for the purpose of the sufficient provision of the Service, is subject to the Bank’s Privacy Policy.
    • Right to share credit information
    • As explained above, we may receive and/ or share your personal information with third parties in appropriate circumstances. The personal information that we may receive and/ or share includes but shall not be limited to your KYC (‘Know Your Customer”) information, airtime usage and/or your Mobile Money Account Usage Data. You further consent to have your credit information listed with one or more Credit Bureaus and you acknowledge that an unpaid Loan amount, listed as such, shall result in the retention of this information by the Credit Bureau for a prescribed period of time
    • The Bank insofar as the law allows, may transfer your personal information outside of Pakistan.
    • Termination, Suspension and Limitation
    • Where we choose to suspend or discontinue the Service, or to change the functionality of our services offered on the Service, whether temporarily or permanently, we will try our best, wherever possible, to provide you with some notice before we do so. Notwithstanding this undertaking, you acknowledge and accept that we are entitled to modify, suspend or discontinue the Service at any time and that we will not be responsible for any damage or loss that you may suffer if we choose to do so. We may also choose to restrict access to certain or all of the functionality or services offered by us.
    • No Warranties or Representations
    • To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant or represent that the Service will be error-free, or that the content provided on or via the Service is or will be accurate, suitable, complete or fit for or compatible with any particular purpose.
    • Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
    • Except for any statutory liability that we may have towards you and which cannot be disclaimed or altered by agreement between you and us, neither we, nor our affiliates, employees, officers, providers or agents will be responsible or liable in any way for any damage or loss of whatsoever nature arising from the Service, your use of or reliance on the Service, or on any information provided on or via the Service. You acknowledge and understand that use of this Service is entirely at your own risk.
    • In the event of damage to, loss, or theft of the SIM, you are obliged to inform us immediately of such damage, loss, or theft. We will then disable such damaged, lost or stolen SIM so as to prevent further use of the Service until the same has been replaced. You will be responsible for all charges and transactions effected up to the time of receipt by us of your notification of the damage, loss, or theft. Notification of any such damage, loss, or theft may be given by telephoning the UPaisa Customer Care Centre. You will be required to indemnify us against any claims made in respect of any transactions affected with your mobile phone prior to such notification being received.
    • We are not responsible for any loss arising from any failure, malfunction, or delay in any mobile phone Networks, mobile phones, the Internet or terminals, or any of its supporting or shared networks, resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
    • Capacity to enter into Agreements
    • By using the Service, you warrant to us (promise in a way that you can be held legally bound by that promise) that you have the required legal and contractual capacity to enter into and be bound by these contractual terms.
    • In particular, you must be at least 18 years old in order to make use of the Service and must have a valid computerized national identity card.
    • If you are unsure whether you have the legal capacity to enter into contracts, you must contact us, and we shall be able to provide you with this information before you continue using the Service.
    • Breach / Failure to Comply with these Terms and Conditions
    • If you breach these Terms and Conditions, or if you use the Service in an unauthorised manner or interact with the Service in any unlawful or unauthorised manner, we will be entitled to terminate your access to the Service immediately without prior notice to you, and without prejudice to any other rights we may have in terms of these Terms and Conditions or at law.
    • Should your access to the Service be terminated as described above, you expressly acknowledge that any loan obligations that exist between you and us at the time of such termination, as set out in these Terms and Conditions and your Loan Schedule, will continue to remain in place until such loan obligations have been met.
    • Governing Law
    • These Terms and Conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Pakistan without reference to any conflict of law provisions. All interactions and transactions made or conducted on this Service (including on or in relation to any loan provided) will be subject to Pakistani law.
    • Nothing will prevent or prohibit either us or you from applying to an appropriate court for urgent/appropriate relief. In addition, you acknowledge and understand that these provisions do not restrict, nor do they attempt to restrict, any right that you may have to submit a complaint to any other body in terms of applicable law, which cannot be altered by agreement between you and us.
    • Nothing will prevent or prohibit either us or you from applying to an appropriate court for urgent/appropriate relief. In addition, you acknowledge and understand that these provisions do not restrict, nor do they attempt to restrict, any right that you may have to submit a complaint to any other body in terms of applicable law, which cannot be altered by agreement between you and us.
    • Any arbitration or mediation held with regard to these Terms and Conditions will be conducted behind closed doors and we and you will be required to treat all details of the dispute submitted to arbitration, the conduct of the arbitration proceedings and the outcome of the arbitration as confidential.
    • Changes in Terms and Conditions
    • Changes and Updates: UBank reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any changes, within reasonable time, and will be required to agree to the updated Terms and Conditions to continue using the Services.
    • Customer Acknowledgement and Consent to these Terms and Conditions
    • By the use of the Service, Customers acknowledge that they have read, agreed and understood these Terms and Conditions.
